DIY Gold Accented Wooden Tray

photo 1-1

I have always been a huge fan of natural wood with gold trim, heck anything with gold on it I am usually a big fan of. I have been seeing online and in stores raw wood with gold accents and decided this was a project I could do myself.

What you need:

Wood Tray or any type of wood dish that you want to accent with gold
paint brush
Craft gold paint

1. depending on how steady you are with a paint brush you can tape the edges with painters tape to get a smooth line
2. Paint 2 coats
3. DONE, easy!

Jewelry Deal: Gorjana & Griffin

Gorjana & Griffin is a simple but adorable accessories designer that has the some of the best basic gold and silver jewelry pieces out there. I originally found out about the brand on one of my favorite blogs, Cupcakes & Cashmere, this past summer. While I have online “window” shopped Gorjana & Griffin’s site before I have never purchased anything because It all seemed a little more than I wanted to spend on jewelry. (lets just say I am not an excellent care taker when it comes to jewelry) But when I was on Gilt yesterday I saw a deal for Gorjana & Griffin that I could not pass up. $40 for $80 worth or $80 for $165 worth of accessories both seemed like pretty good deal to me but what sweetened the pot was a retail me not coupon I found for Gilt City “WELCOME20” which gave me another 20% off. So needless to say I purchased the $165 worth of accessories and ended up paying only $64. Pretty good deal.

PS. the Gilt deal is still available till March 6th so don’t miss out!

Getting Back to Blogging

My dear friend Mallory has convinced me to get back into the blogging world. I think I took on to much by trying to post everyday. My 9-5 job has been a little crazy in the bast 6 months only making it harder to blog. So while I cannot make any promises I hope to be blogging again just not as frequently. (Honestly too many great finds I have found need to be shared!)

I haven’t had anytime to make new posts this week due to my busy work schedule and my closet reorganization (which is taking a little longer than expected). And here I am again off to another girls weekend at the beach. This time we are staying at my parents beach house in Rehoboth Beach, DE. I have been going to Rehoboth Beach ever since I was a little girl and I love going there, not only because of the beach but the town of Rehoboth has the cutest shops and restaurants. I am super excited to get away for the weekend and relax with the girls.

Decor Inspiration

Since I am working on redoing my closet, I have been looking for other inspiration to add to my room. After seeing the image above, I got inspired to want to antique my own mirrors and make a collage like the one above for a wall in my room. Hopefully it will be a success and I can post about how to antique mirrors!

This week I finally got over my cold and started to work on my closet reorganization (post to come soon). August already seems to be flying by. I have been super busy at work this week but I want to share some photos of what I am loving right now.
